As usual though if you’re not actually in Ireland when connecting to the website then it won’t work for you, although you can access some of the radio content and sometimes the Irish news. I normally use Identity Cloaker to access this channel, as RTE recently updated the flash player it uses for RTE player which blocks just using a simple Irish proxy. UTV Internet and Virgin media provide this but many other broadband providers don't. It's called geo-blocking and it's something that's in use more and more often.

Yes it is, but the original post - paragraph 4 - advocates a viewer living in the UK mainland telling Sky that they have moved to an address in the ROI in order to get the other Irish terrestrials.
